The RoboMoto Journey

When we joined the robotics club in Achimota Senior High school, many of us came with curiosity, not fully realizing how much that decision would shape who we are today.

Robomoto was more than just a club—it was a vision brought to life. We are especially grateful to the 1983 year group, whose foresight and commitment created an opportunity that has impacted generations. Because of them, we found a space to explore, to build, and to discover who we could become.

Our journey was further shaped by the support of Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation, the first organization to hold workshops for our club using EV3 kits. Those moments were more than just training sessions, they were sparks that ignited curiosity and possibility within us.

Under the guidance of our coaches, Mr Amedzro, Mr Elliot, and Mr Ala, we learned far more than how to build and program robots. They taught us how to think, how to persevere, and how to approach challenges with creativity and discipline.

As members of Achimota School, we are taught to train the head, the heart, and the hands and Robomoto did exactly that. It challenged our minds, strengthened our character, and equipped us with practical skills.

Through competitions like RISE and the FIRST LEGO League, we experienced both pressure and excitement. We learned resilience, teamwork, and the courage to keep going even when things did not work as planned. Every challenge became a lesson, and every success reminded us of what we could achieve together.

In many ways, Robomoto became a source of renewal for us, a place where ideas flowed, where creativity thrived, and where we were encouraged to become more than we thought possible. Together, we were not just learning; we were growing, building, and setting the pace, just as our school calls us to do.

Today, although we are scattered far and wide, the impact of Robomoto remains with us. It shaped our mindset, expanded our vision, and gave us the confidence to pursue purpose with intention.

Robomoto did more than teach us robotics. It built us. It made us living waters to a thirsty land.
