About ROBO MOTO
ROBO MOTO is the robotics club of Achimota School, established in 2023 through the initiative and sponsorship of the OAA 1983 Year Group as part of their 40th Anniversary Legacy Project.
The club provides students with opportunities to explore robotics, programming, and engineering through practical learning and participation in robotics competitions.
Robotics combines several disciplines including computer science, programming, electronics, engineering, mathematics, and artificial intelligence.
Through ROBO MOTO, students develop creativity, technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
Our Story
The idea to establish a robotics club at Achimota School was formally introduced on January 11, 2023.
The OAA 1983 Year Group committed to supporting the creation of the club to provide students with opportunities to explore robotics and engineering through hands-on learning.
Key initiatives during the establishment of the club included:
- providing robotics kits and learning materials
- organizing robotics bootcamp training
- establishing club governance and supervision
- connecting the club to robotics organizations and competitions
- sponsoring participation in robotics competitions
The year group committed approximately $10,000 in funding during the first two years, with additional support continuing thereafter.
